Kolben Chair Lift

The Kolben chair lift, operated as a two-person lift, goes from the valley station in Oberammergau at 2,788 ft (850 m) to the station on the Kolbensattel, located at 4,166 ft (1,270 m) and directly next to the Kolbensattel Lodge.

Prices

The fee for dogs is 3 Euros per ascent or descent.

* Children under 1.25 m and 6 years may only be transported if accompanied by an adult. A single baby or toddler can be carried on an adult's lap, in which case no other person can be carried in the same chair. (A maximum of 2 people including babies or toddlers per chair)

* Children are only allowed to use the Alpine Coaster from the age of 3 (proof of age required).
Children under 8 years of age and 1,40 m are only allowed to use the Alpine Coaster as a passenger together with an older person (from 16 years of age, minimum height 1.40 m). 
Pregnant women and kids under 3 years are not allowed to use the Alpine Coaster.
** Per person, tickets are not divisible and not transferable.

Weather-related changes, as well as corona-related changes and closings, are possible.

IMPORTANT NOTE: On Thursday, April 25, 2024, all facilities and the Kolbensattel Lodge will remain CLOSED for internal reasons!

Last mountain ascent 15 minutes before closing time!

Ticket office on the valley station: every day from 10:00 a.m. until 15 minutes before closing time.
Ticket office on the mountain: only on weekends and public holidays (weekdays closed), from 10:00 a.m. until 15 minutes before closing time. (Weather-related closings are possible)

Changes to opening and closing times are perhaps possible in certain circumstances on request, for example for church services, schools, big groups, etc.
*Kolbensattel-Lodge: Meals can be ordered up to 30 minutes before the closing.
